TRAVEL TIPS

Getting Here and Around

TMR is a notoriously tricky area to drive to if you don’t know Montréal well, and there are no métro stations nearby. The easiest way to get here from Downtown is by taking the commuter train that leaves from Central Station and then getting off at the Mont-Royal stop, at the particularly cute town square. The train ride is notable in itself—it travels directly under "the mountain" (Parc Mont-Royal), through what is the second longest tunnel in the country (about 5 km [3 miles]). It was constructed by the Canadian Northern Railway back in 1910, and was, at that time, considered quite an engineering feat.
